Padilla urges Dela Rosa to reject ICC arrest

Senator Robin Padilla told Sen. Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa on Tuesday, December 9, to defy any move by the International Criminal Court (ICC) after reports surfaced about a possible arrest warrant.

In a statement, Padilla said, “My advice to him is to never surrender to a foreign power,” as the warning quickly spread across political circles.

Meanwhile, Padilla disclosed that he currently has no direct contact with Dela Rosa because the senator is being cautious about security and surveillance.

Moreover, Dela Rosa is facing international scrutiny for his role as former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the Duterte administration.

Dela Rosa and Former President Rodrigo Duterte are both accused before the ICC of crimes against humanity linked to the deadly war on drugs.

Subsequently, Dela Rosa has not appeared in the Senate since November 10 following public claims that an arrest warrant had already been issued.

As of now, Duterte remains detained in The Netherlands as the ICC process continues.
