Privacy Policy

Draft for review. Insight PH keeps the personal data it collects to a minimum and never sells it.

What we collect

• Reader accounts (comments): name, email, avatar from Google or email sign-in.
• Email subscribers: email, frequency and language preferences, consent record.
• Contact forms: whatever you type, plus attachments. Anonymous tips store no name, email, or IP address.
• Analytics: cookie-free, aggregated counts. IP addresses are hashed with a salt that changes daily and are never stored raw.

Why we collect it

To run comments and email news you asked for, to answer your messages, and to understand which stories readers find useful. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest as a publication.

Who processes it

Cloudflare (hosting and security), Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (email), and Google (sign-in, if you choose it). Data may be stored outside the Philippines by these providers.

How long we keep it

Comments: until you delete them or your account. Subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, then 30 days. Resolved contact messages: 1 year. Analytics dedupe records: 48 hours.

Your rights

You may access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your data, and ask for a copy. Use the privacy request form or email the Data Protection Officer at privacy@insightph.org. We respond within 15 working days.

Breaches

If a breach affects you, we will notify the National Privacy Commission and you within 72 hours where required.
