Capping off a Nationals triumph, the Lady Bullpups then wrote the same narrative in the Invitationals after fending off Bacolod once again to make it two-for-two.
National University Nazareth School (NUNS) hauled double-crowns, posting straight-set wins over Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) in both the National and Invitational finals of the Rebisco Volleyball League.
The Lady Bullpups kickstarted their back-to-back title bid, foiling Bacolod Tay Tung via a 25–15, 29–27, 25–20 walkover to claim their first supremacy in the National Finals on January 22.
With Bacolod trimming their third-set trail at 22–20, NUNS pulled away aftter exploiting the formers’ mishaps, topped by Diza Berayo’s deciding spike that sealed their victory.
Prior to that, the Lady Bullpups blanked University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) in a 25–17, 25–15 rout after going on a flawless rally in Pool A.
But their upswing did not end there.
Their brilliance continued in the Invitational finals, repeating their mastery over BTTHS, 25–23, 26–24, 25–15 to nab their second-tourney glory on January 24.
Beforehand, the NUNS aces displayed dominance, powering past USA’s Perfect Set in a 25–16, 25–7, 25–9 beatdown during the semifinals.
The white-clad phenoms’ win marked a perfect nine-game sweep in both competitions.
NU Nazareth aims to defend their throne in the next edition of RVL National and Invitational.
