To improve mobile and internet connectivity nationwide, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched “Oplan Bantay Signal.”
Through the program, the public can report weak or unstable signals using the Oaklas Speed mobile application or the DICT website.
According to DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, these reports help telecommunications companies identify specific areas where network improvements are needed.
More than 600,000 signal-quality reports have already been submitted, enabling authorities and service providers to locate problem areas and respond more quickly.
Aguda said the program also addresses connectivity issues affecting government digital platforms, which may experience slow performance due to poor internet service.
By improving signal quality, he said, the initiative aims to support uninterrupted access to online public services.
The rollout is expected to benefit areas outside Metro Manila, where slow or unreliable connections often affect online activities.
