RORA asserts dominance over TNC, seals first victory in MPL S17

Aurora Gaming PH (RORA) easily notched their maiden triumph in MPL Philippines Season 17 after completing a commanding 2–0 rout over TNC Pro Team (TNC) on March 21 at the Victoria Sports Tower.

RORA controlled the onset before opening Game 2 in style as they executed key foes and maintained communication to secure a Lord midway while Yue sparked a decisive Maniac for the win.

“Usual lang — targeting key heroes and keeping comms [communications] smooth throughout the game,” said Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, Aurora Gaming PH’s jungler, who also achieved the overall match MVP.

Previously, they squandered a Game 2 surge before suffering a 1–2 loss over Team Liquid PH (TLPH) in their opening game last March 20.

Demonkite bagged the Game 1 MVP with a 2-0-9 KDA, while Light took Game 2 honors with a 1-1-12 output.

The Aurora aces leaned on clean team fight execution and objective control, turning early discipline into a steady gold lead that never slipped away in Game 1.

Demonkite on Guinevere secured the first turtle, but TNC’s Zaida on Leomord answered by taking down RORA Edward’s Lapu-Lapu.

However, Edward struck back during the second turtle as he scored a double kill after Zaida’s clutch steal and RORA Light’s fall to force a 2–2 deadlock.

Despite a brief back-and-forth in the opening minutes, Aurora seized momentum midway, punishing TNC’s overextensions and dominating the first Lord fight to crack the map open.

RORA then dismantled TNC’s defenses as Demonkite’s orchestrated engagements, while Edward provided crucial follow-ups to close Game 1 with a 12–3 blowout.

Game 2 saw Aurora ramp up their aggression, halting TNC’s jungle rotations while building a massive early lead behind Yue’s explosive Kimmy and Light’s disruptive Grock plays.

RORA ruled the second turtle clash, executing three TNC heroes to go up 4–0 and stretching it to 7–0 as Light’s Grock countered with Tectonic Charge for three more takedowns.

Aurora’s coordination peaked around the objective fight, where they consistently outmaneuvered TNC, stacking kills and denying any chance of a comeback.

RORA’s near-flawless midgame escalated into total map control as they snatched the Lord uncontested and methodically collapsed TNC’s base.

Yue then punctuated the dominance with an easy Maniac, stamping a lopsided 14-1 finish to push RORA in the winning column.
